We [at LRPC] believe that all human life is sacred and created by God in His image. Human life is of inestimable worth in all its dimensions, including pre-born babies, the aged, the physically or mentally challenged, and every other stage or condition from conception through natural death.
We are therefore called to defend, protect, and value all human life from womb to tomb.
For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well. My frame was not hidden from you, when I was being made in secret, intricately woven in the depths of the earth. Your eyes saw my unformed substance; in your book were written, every one of them, the days that were formed for me, when as yet there was none of them.
Psalm 139:13-16
Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live, and everyone who lives and believes in me shall never die. Do you believe this?”
John 11:25-26
On Sanctity of Life Sunday, the millions of unborn babies are not the only victims of abortion: there is regret for an irreversible action . . . but also eternal hope in Christ. Post-Abortion Guilt

January is Sanctity of Human Life month
On January 13, 1984, President Ronald Reagan issued a proclamation designating January 22 as the first National Sanctity of Human Life Day. (January 22, 1973, was the day the U.S. Supreme Court legalized abortion-on-demand in all 50 states.) Churches around the United States use the day to celebrate God’s gift of life, commemorate the many lives lost to abortion, and commit themselves to protecting human life at every stage. Churches continue to recognize the third Sunday in January as Sanctity of Human Life Sunday.
So, the 49th annual March for Life in the United States will take place in Washington, D.C., on January 21, 2021 with the theme “Equality begins in the womb.”. The stated purpose of the march is to end abortion by “uniting, educating, and mobilizing pro-life people in the public square.”
The annual march commemorates the infamous January 22, 1973 Supreme Court decision in Roe v. Wade which, together with the 1992 Planned Parenthood v. Casey, invalidated 50 state laws and made abortion legal and available on demand throughout the United States.
Our DIACONATE – Mercy and Care Ministries
Deacons and Deacon Assistants carry out the mercy and care service ministries of the church. Whether it’s visiting shut-ins or those in nursing homes or arranging meals for those that are sick. Deacons take care of the physical needs of our own church community as agents of the benevolence and charity work, and are alert to the spiritual needs of the congregation.
PCA Positions on Human Life
The PCA has from its beginning has been pro-life (anti-abortion) believing life begins at conception. According to the official statement adopted at the 16th General Assembly in 1988 it officially opposes euthanasia. “Euthanasia, or “mercy-killing” of a patient by a physician or by anyone else, including the patient himself (suicide) is murder.
