Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5 It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6 Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7 It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
This Sunday, Pastor David spoke on 1 Corinthians 13:4-7 – a very well-known passage on love. These are words that we hear at weddings but they are words for life; for church life. This is the context of how Paul wrote them. They are for you and me. For the Corinthian church and every other church that’s living out life in this fallen world. It’s how we are to live and how we are to be obedient to Christ’s commandment, “Love one another as I have loved you.”
