Louis (Lou) Quievryn was born in Bay Shore,
New York on June 13, 1959. He attended Rutgers University,
where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Urban Planning
in 1981. However, during his senior year at Rutgers, Lou came
to know Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior through the ministry
of Inter Varsity Christian Fellowship. After college, he found
himself serving on several Children’s Beach and Urban Missions
with Scripture Union. As he continued to wait on the Lord,
Lou earned an MBA in Accounting from New York Institute of
Technology in 1986. He also continued to serve his local church
and served on several children’s missions, where he met his
wife, Lori. They married in 1986 and soon thereafter moved
to Charlotte, North Carolina. They have three children; Timothy,
Jennifer, and Daniel.
Lou earned his CPA in 1992 and served as a Controller in industry for about 10 years before
he sensed the Lord calling him into full-time ministry. While working full-time as a CPA and working
part-time as a Director of Christian Education for a local church, Lou attended Reformed Theological
Seminary, where he graduated with a Master of Divinity degree in 2002.
Before coming to Loch Raven, Lou pastored a church plant (2002-2004) as well as a PCA church
in Lancaster, SC (2005-2008). He is currently a Doctor of Ministry candidate at Covenant Theological
Seminary in St. Louis.
