Women In The Church (WIC)
|
"Women Created in Christ
unto Good Works" |
|
Women created in Christ unto good works",
this is our theme for 2011, and our verse is Ephesians 2:10,
"For we are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus, to
do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do. |
FOUNDATION -- The authority of God's Word and the
theological standards of the Presbyterian Church in America.
OVERSIGHT -- The General Assembly has assigned
the Women in the Church ministry to the Committee on Christian Education
and Publications.
STRATEGY -- Discipling God's Covenant People is
Christian Education and Publications' overarching vision. The Women in
the Church's ministry portion is to encourage and equip women to think
biblically and live covenantally. We accomplish this through resources
and training that are called Biblical Foundations for Womanhood.
PURPOSE -- That every woman in the church know
Christ personally and be committed to extending His Kingdom in her life,
home, church, community, and throughout the world.
Nehemiah has been a theme study in our church for the
last several months. He stirs us to continue to rebuild a wall that will
glorify God, give protection from the enemy, hope for the future and
provide for our needs. Let us, like Nehemiah, trust God to give us the
desire, the strength and commitment to continue building our body of
women into a firm structure, bringing honor to God's name.
Maybe you are new to our church, our denomination, or unfamiliar with
Women in the Church (WIC). WIC's purpose is "that every woman in the
church know Christ personally and be committed to extending His Kingdom
in her life, home, church, community, and throughout the world." We have
6 groups of women that meet each month as listed in the newsletter.
Please search out someone in one of the groups, and see if you can find
a "fit for you and your schedule."
This year WIC is planning a craft day on May 6, the Strawberry Festival
on June 12, Christmas Tea on December 5, and possibly another craft day
in the fall. We are also planning on putting together a
cookbook/craft/holiday tradition book.
