Are you on Facebook? ‘Like’ LochRavenPCA and join the ‘Fall Harvest Party’ Event to let others know you’re coming, too!
With the Fall Harvest Party fast approaching, we will need your help in preparing for and organizing the evening of festivities. There will be a number of areas where anyone and everyone can help to make the evening enjoyable for all, including things like: setting up for the event, coordinating events during the evening, and then the clean-up after the event to prepare the church for the following morning worship service. Also, we have additional needs for donations of inexpensive supplies to help keep costs down for the event (Session and our Treasurer will appreciate that!)
Below are some items that if you could either donate your time and effort or pocketbook, that would be MOST appreciated!!
1. Candy Donations and Help Preparing the Bags
There will be a box in the narthex starting this Sunday to collect donations of bags of candy for the Trick or Treat Bags. If you would like to donate some candy, please drop them in the box no later than Thursday, October 23rd. On that evening, we need volunteers to help fill the bags. Join us in the Library at 7:30pm.
2. Set Up the Sanctuary
Help will be needed to take down chairs in the sanctuary on Thursday, Oct. 23rd at 7:00pm prior to the choir practice.
3. Chili Cooks!!
This year, we are going to do our First Annual Chili Cook-off! If you think you are the best, bring it on! Sign up in the narthex that you might bring a crock pot of chili for all to enjoy!
4. Supplies Donations:
To keep costs down, we are asking if members could help by bringing simple & inexpensive items. There will be a poster in the narthex with Post-It notes as to what you could bring.. take just one – or several! Please bring your donation to the event that evening, or drop it off at the church!
5. Set Up and Break Down, Saturday, Oct. 25th
On Saturday late afternoon (around 5:00pm), help will be needed to set up tables, chairs, run extension cords and lights outside and prepare the food & beverages for the bonfire. During the event, we’ll need help with just keeping a watchful eye on our young ones and help with serving the food & drinks (hot dogs, marshmallows, smores). Then, after the event, assistance will be needed to clean up the grounds and to set up chairs again in the sanctuary for the Sunday morning worship service.
