As most know, there was an effort in June to adopt twelve new puppets for the Christian Community Center. There was a church service announcement about the adoption on June 21, 2015. The photos of the puppets were on the bulletin board in the narthex. Two women in the church set up two tray tables for the adoption that same day. It was thought that church attendees might drop in coins or small amounts toward the adoption of a puppet of their choice. Little could we anticipate what would happened next!
They were immediately surrounded by a large group of attendees pointing out a puppet and filling out a card for the a portion or entire cost of the puppet! This continued for twenty minutes after which ALL the twelve were either adopted or designated for adoption. The two women looked at each other and said, “What just happened here?”
“How did God do this?” It was amazing.
Comments heard from donors included:
“It is for the kids.” (At least 5 times.)
“It is in honor of my two grandchildren. They will choose the two they want to adopt.”
“It’s to honor two friends who will be having big birthdays.”
“I’ll take care of any puppets that are not adopted.”
“I remember my puppeteer days. I must adopt a puppet for CCC.”
Praise God for the fifteen people who contributed to this new ministry, either anonymously or specifically.
God is always gracious in our times of need!
