Pastor David’s oldest son, Walter, is spending the year traveling the country with Life Action Ministries starting revivals in churches. He occasionally sends updates back home. You can support his fundraising efforts online by clicking here.
Dear Friends and Family,
The traveling year is quickly coming to a close for our road teams and my team will be finishing the end of this month in Virginia. The time has really flown by and has been an extremelly positive growing experience for me. I look forward to sharing my experiences with all of you in Loch Raven this week!
Moving along the U.S.
Since leaving Benton, IL we’ve been on spring break in North Carolina, held a Summit in Fort Worth, TX and held a Thirst conference in Roanoke, VA and Deland, FL. All the conferences went extremely well, but the Lord brought about several noteworthy things in Wedgewood Baptist Church (Fort Worth, TX) while we were there. Not only did the Lord heal families, break down walls of pride, and convict of sin among the congregation, but the pastor was also led to humble himself before the congregation and sincerely apologize for a sermon he had preached several months prior to our arrival that had hurt several families in the church.
At another one of the services one of the pastors was prompted to give his size 13 shoes to someone in the congregation right in the middle of the service. Greg (our lead revivalist) invited someone who needed the shoes to come up; when no one did, he went on with the service. At the end of the service a couple walked up to Greg and began to explain that it was their first time visiting the church. The wife heard the invitation for the shoes and knew they were for her husband, but he was in the restroom. The husband’s shoes were falling apart and they didn’t have the money for new ones, but he wore a size 13! The next day someone in the congregation anonymously blessed the pastor with $60 to get a new pair of shoes. Needless to say, the Lord has orchestrated some really amazing things in the churches we’ve been in.
Over Easter our team was able to take a week long break in the mountains on North Carolina. A couple well acquainted with Life Action allowed us to stay in their lodge for the week and be able to relax. The property was far from anything and allowed us to spend time reconnecting to the Lord and each other in the quiet and peace of nature. The Appalachian trail was also next to it and we were able to take several hikes through the mountains. The wonderful exposure to nature along with some of the best BBQ ribs I’ve ever had made for a fantastic break that allowed us to recharge and reconnect.
