This Sunday (8/31)
This Sunday Pastor David beings his 9:30AM Sunday School class ‘On Being Presbyterian‘. ALL are invited. Books were pre-ordered for those that signed up, but don’t let that stop you! Come this Sunday, take good notes, and then order your own book either through the church office or on Amazon (click for link) and bring it the following Sunday! The Berean Class (for Women) are studying ‘End Times’ and meet in room 203. The Men’s Class are studying ‘Sermons in Song’ and meet in the church kitchen (doughnuts and coffee provided!) The Young Adult Group is studying ‘Acts’ and meets in the Church House.
Lesley M. will be performing a solo of ‘Perfect Peace’ by Laura Story.
Pastor David is back in the pulpit and will be preaching from Ezra 8:24-26. His message is titled “Entrusted with God’s Treasure“. What a timely message for our church family!
We will be celebrating Communion this Sunday.
Last Sunday Wrap Up
Thanks for worshiping with us on Sunday. We had Rev. Glen Osborn from China Outreach Ministries in the pulpit. Preaching from Matthew 13:31-32, Glen delivered a great reminder about how amazing it is that God uses us to plant seeds, but ultimately, it’s His amazing work that waters those seeds. We don’t always know how He will use us – but we do know that nothing is too small. Glen shared a powerful example of how God can use people to do what seem like small or insignificant things now but that, through Him, those things can into big things later on! If you weren’t able to be with us, the sermon and bulletin are available here on the website. If you weren’t here, please take some time to listen to the message.
There are many opportunities to be involved in the church community this upcoming week. Check out the schedule below and see where you might fit in. If you have any questions or would like some more information, don’t hesitate to call the church office ((410) 661-5777) – we’d be glad to help you get plugged in!
News & Things
What is ‘Presbyterian’? New class starting August 31st
What is the significance of the word Presbyterian to our identity as a church? How does being Presbyterian affect who we are, what we believe, what we do, and why we believe and do these things? Pastor Milligan will be teaching an adult Sunday School class that explores these questions and others, using the book, On Being Presbyterian, by Sean Michael Lucas. The class will begin on August 31st and will meet in the sanctuary at 9:30AM.
You don’t have to have a copy of the book to attend the class, but if you would like a copy please call the church office. Copies of the book ordered by the church are $12.66. If you pre-ordered last week, please use one of the envelopes in the narthex to pay for your book, if you haven’t already. A $7.99 Kindle version of this book is also available for purchase online at Amazon.com.
The September edition of the Loch Raven Press is available online! It is also available in print (B&W) on the information table in the church Narthex. Please read through it to see what’s happening around the church.
