Gideons Visiting Today

Today we welcome Mr. Norman Burkey of the Gideons.  In addition to your bulletin insert, there is a table in the narthex with information about the Gideons and an offering plate for any donations you’d like to make to this worthy cause. For your information, we have Gideon donation cards (“In Honor” and “In Memory”) available year-round in the narthex.

Lenten Meals

Our custom of coming together and preparing our hearts on Wednesdays during the Lent has begun.  This year we alternate Lenten dinners and luncheons. Our meal this week is a dinner at 6:00 p.m. followed by our congregational prayer meeting. Pastor Milligan’s devotional will be based on John 19: 25-27.  Please consider coming to as many of these meals as you can. Sign up in the narthex for as many meals as you can attend. Signup sheets for anyone who would like to provide soup, salad, bread or sandwiches for these services are also in the narthex. Extra copies of last week’s bulletin insert about the meaning of Lent with more details about LRPC’s Lenten meals are available in the narthex.

Lunch w/ Karen & Rich Hansen

Everyone is invited to have lunch with the Hansens next Sunday, March 23, after morning worship. Please sign up in the narthex TODAY if you plan to attend the lunch so that the Missions Committee can prepare the right amount of food.

Men’s Class Dinner Help Needed

Please see Curt Soukup if you can help in any way with Saturday’s Men’s Class dinner. Curt can use people for set up, cooking, serving and clean up. This meal is a huge undertaking, so if you can spare a few hours, your help would be greatly appreciated.
If you did not sign up already, please sign the sheet today. We have room for only a few more people.

Missions Trip to Matamoros, Mexico

The Missions Committee encourages you to support with prayer and finances the team of twelve people from LRPC as they prepare for this July trip.  We have pledged the $1000 item in the Missions budget for short term missions and are giving it to this endeavor. PRAY for the team members as they approach family and friends to request financial support and as they complete the required paper work.  PRAY that God will bless them as they anticipate this opportunity to serve Him at Mision Emanuel. You can learn more about the trip and how to support by visiting the special Missions Trip website.

Church Directory Updates

We plan to issue a new LRPC Directory this spring. If you are not included in the current directory or have new information or corrections please contact the church office. Share only the information you’d like congregation members to have. Deadline for changes will be March 23.

Sunday School Needs

We still need 11:00 a.m. aides for March 23, Easter and other later dates. No advanced preparation is needed. If you’d be interested in committing to one Sunday a month as a helper, please see Jo Ann Beck and/or sign the sheet in the narthex. Thank you, we now have the primary class need met.

ACTC Donation List

The ACTC has added canned fruit to our donation list, in addition to the pasta and sauce we’re already collecting. Donation boxes for these items will remain in the narthex until the end of the month.

Church Newsletter Submission Deadline

The deadline for submissions for the April edition of the Loch Raven Press is Tuesday, March 25, at 9:00 a.m.

Next  Weeks Sermon

Next Sunday, Pastor Milligan will preach from Romans 5:6-11. The title of his sermon will be “The Death of Jesus.” The hymns next week will be #257, “Stricken, Smitten, and Afflicted” and #500, “Rock of Ages, Cleft for Me.”
